What we collect, why, who helps us run Studio5, and the choices you have. Short version: as little as possible, never sold, no ads.

Last updated 24 October 2026

The short version

  • You can listen without an account. We only know what any website knows about a visit.
  • With an account we keep your name, email and what you choose to save: likes, playlists, follows.
  • No ads. No selling or renting your data. No advertising trackers.
  • Delete your account any time from the Delete your account page. It happens at once.

Who we are

Studio5 is an Islamic record label. This policy covers the Studio5 website at studio5.pk and the Studio5 apps (together, "Studio5"). Questions go to [email protected].

What we collect

Account details, if you create an account:

  • Your name and email address.
  • Your password, stored only as a one-way hash we cannot read.
  • How you sign in: email, Google or Apple. With Google we receive your name, email and Google account ID. With Apple we receive an Apple account ID and, the first time only, the name and email you choose to share (Apple may give us a private relay address instead of your real one).
  • If you had an account on the old Studio5 app, the details it held, such as a phone number, were carried over.

What you do with your account: likes, saved titles, playlists, the artists and collections you follow, and downloads.

Listening statistics: which title played, for how long, whether it finished, the time, the platform (web, iOS or Android) and a random session ID. If you are signed in, plays are linked to your account. We use them for play counts, trending lists and suggestions.

Technical data: your IP address and browser details appear in server and security logs. They are used only to keep the service running and safe.

Stored on your device

Studio5 keeps a few things in your browser or app so it works the way you left it: your theme, shuffle, repeat and speed choices, where you were in a title, recently played titles and recent searches. In the apps, titles you download to listen offline, and their artwork, are kept on your phone until you remove them or uninstall the app. These stay on your device. The only one we read is the sign-in token that keeps you signed in. Details are on the Cookies and storage page.

What we do not do

  • We do not show ads.
  • We do not sell, rent or trade personal data.
  • We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking tools.
  • We do not use your data to build profiles for anyone else.

Why we use it

  • To run Studio5: play titles, keep your account, likes and playlists.
  • To count plays and build lists such as Trending.
  • To keep the service secure and stop abuse.
  • To answer you when you write to us.
  • To meet legal obligations.

Who helps us run Studio5

We use a small number of trusted service providers to host, deliver and secure Studio5. They handle data only on our instructions and only to run the service, never for their own purposes.

Videos play through the YouTube player, which loads only when you choose to watch. Studio5 uses YouTube API Services, so the YouTube Terms of Service apply to videos, and what the player collects is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.

How long we keep it

Account data stays while you have an account. When you delete it, we delete the account, its playlists, likes, saves, follows and sign-ins straight away. Listening statistics are kept without any link to you, so play counts stay correct. Logs are kept for a short time. Backups are overwritten on a regular cycle.

Your choices and rights

  • See or correct your details: write to us.
  • Get a copy of your data: write to us and we send it.
  • Delete your account: use the Delete your account page, or write to us.
  • Clear what is stored on your device: use Clear history in the Library and on Search, or your browser settings.

Write to [email protected]. We reply as soon as we can.

Children

Anyone can listen without an account, and Studio5 includes content for children and families. Accounts are for people aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you think a child has created an account, write to us and we will delete it.

Security

Studio5 uses HTTPS everywhere, stores passwords only as hashes, and limits access to personal data to the staff who need it to run the service.

Changes to this policy

When this policy changes we update it here and change the date at the top. If a change matters to how we use your data, we say so on the site or in the apps.
